PBS in the Park

A couple weekends ago we attended PBS in the Park.  It was so much fun!  It was at a park in downtown Indy and was crazy busy. So many people!  But the kids had a blast, and best part, it was all free!  Since we are totally cheap and don't have cable (bunny ears baby!), PBS kids are really the only shows Drake watches except for a few super hero ones on netflix.  So this was right up our alley.  They had a bunch of characters there that you could get your picture with.  The downside is you had to stand in line to see each one.  So we told Drake he could pick one character we would stand in line for and the others we would just wave to.  He was totally fine with that and he picked Word Girl to stand in line for.  I know, he is so funny! But she is a super hero on her show and he is working on reading right now so she was what he was interested in at the time.  (Oh, and he is doing so great with learning to read! I am so proud of him.  Although it is tough to get him to sit still on concentrate for more than 5 minutes so that is frustrating.)  They also had some music and little shows going on so the kids liked to watch those too.  We had a lot of fun and will probably try to go again next year.

Colt's Open Practice

This past week the Colts had a open practice at the Lucas Oil stadium for fans to come and watch and get autographs.  We thought Drake would like it and since it was free we headed downtown to check it out.  Drake had a blast!  He thought the stadium was so cool and he like watching the players practice.  We definitely are not saying we are die hard Colts fans (we still love our Packers!) but we might as well embrace our home teams.

IMA

A few days ago we ventured to the grounds of the Indianapolis Museum of Art. The actual building was closed that day but the grounds there was absolutely beautiful! The day was overcast and a little breezy so it was perfect to be outside and not dying of heat. Here are some pictures of the day. The kids had a blast seeing all the different statues and things. Also part of the grounds/park is more kid friendly so that was really fun for them. I think we will definitely take visitors here when our families come out.  Oh and as a side note, the shirt that I am wearing under my jacket is a peach like color but in some of the pictures it just looks like my huge belly is hanging out,I promise it is my shirt, not my belly. Haha.

Fishing!

In the previous post I think I mentioned that we have a park and a neighborhood pool in our neighborhood.  We also have a nice walking path that walks around two ponds.  Right off the bat Chris saw that some people would fish at these ponds so he had to go and check it out.  Chris went fishing a couple times and said that the fishing was really good.  So since it is right in our neighborhood we decided to take Drake.  It is nice because we can go for like 10 or 20 minutes easy and then just head right back home.  Drake (with Chris's help of course) caught at least 5 fish.  He was having so much fun! And miss Sonja enjoyed sitting in the stroller watching the boys in action.  It was a over cast day so the pictures don't capture all of the beauty here but you get the picture.

The first fish of the outing.

Sonja is not so sure about it.

This is here "I am kind of grossed out but mom said to smile so CHEESE!"

and here it is!

Best Buds!

This next picture is a random one but I wanted to show it cause I think it is so cute. I stole this idea from someone else because I just thought it was so cool.  Each of my children are/will be born in different states.  Drake was born in Utah, Sonja in Wisconsin, and baby #3 will be born here in Indiana.  So in our playroom we wanted to showcase that.  We found some cute paper and just cut out the shape of the states.  Cute, right?
