Oh, so Skinny!

Drake had his 4 month check up on Friday and it went pretty well except for one thing. Drake was showing off for the doctor, showing all of his tricks. He was smiling, flirting, talking and growling. He showed her how strong he is and how he loves to stand. He is right on track milestone wise (he rolled over front to back a couple weeks ago - and back to front on Sunday)!!! He is still in the 50th percentile for height but his weight is another issue. I know that he is small, but i thought that he was getting pretty big. I was wrong. At his 2 month check-up he was in the 40th percentile and weighed 10 pounds 6 ounces. Now, he weighs 11 pounds 14 ounces and is in the 5th percentile. He is so-------o skinny! I feel so bad for him. He eats really well, but now the doctor wants me to top him off with formula. Chris and I weren't super excited about that because we didn't want to have to deal with that expense, but that is okay. So we started giving him an ounce to two ounces after each feeding on Friday and every since then he won't stop spitting up. He is pretty much spitting up everything that we are giving him. He is so funny though because he will spit up (a ton) and then smile like everything is fine. Anyways, that is what is going on with us this week. We are just going to try to figure out what formula to give him and how much so he doesn't spit up so much.

Easter

It was Drake's first Easter and we had a lot of fun! He had 3 Easter egg hunts and received 3 Easter baskets. It was such a nice day on Easter, so Drake had a lot of fun being outside! Drake also rolled over for the first time last week. He rolled from tummy to back 4 times during the day and he has yet to do it again. I guess that now that he knows that he can do it, he decided that he doesn't have to do it again. Drake also started Little Gym this week. I know what you are thinking . . . "What does a 4 month old do at a gymnastics class?" Well, we do stretches, listen to music, have tummy time, sing songs, play with instruments and start working on some gymnastics skills to get them used to doing different movements. He learned how to do a backward roll (obviously with my help) and some activities on the beam. He also got to play with balls and bubbles at the end to help with his hand-eye coordination. We had a lot of fun! Especially since I got to see all my old co-workers again! So we had a lot of fun this week, hanging out with family and old friends!

Drake also started eating rice cereal last week. We give him just a little bit before he goes to bed and he hates it! He is getting better at it now, but it definitely is not his favorite. Can we blame him though? It tastes awful! It tastes like the cardboard box that it comes in. But he is starting to get the hang of it and I actually think that he looks forward to having some. He starts getting fussy about 15 minutes before we give it to him then he is happy afterward.

Poor Poopy

I now know how hard it is to watch you kid be sick. Drake has been sick for the last couple days. He has a cough, runny nose and who knows what else. I feel so bad for him, he just seems like he feels horrible. If that isn't hard enough, both Chris and I caught what Drake has. I guess I am experiencing the fact that with kids, if one person is sick, everyone will become sick. Drake is a trooper though, he still has managed to smile and laugh at some point during the day. I just hope that he feels better soon, and same with Chris and I! Chris really wanted me to post this picture of Drake and his runny nose ... so here it is.
