Drake Fun Days

A couple weeks ago we had a groupon for ice skating and decided to take Drake.  We left Sonja with some friends and had some much needed Drake time!  Drake was so funny trying to ice skate.  He had a ton of fun but mostly just liked to be silly and slip on the ice.  Towards the end he was making some progress though!

Right when we got there the Zamboni was out and Drake LOVED it!

Sorry, the video's are sideways for some reason....

Today Drake and Chris had some father/son time and went to Lowe's for their little craft time thing.  They made a monster box which is really cute!

Wisconsin Fall

We have been trying enjoy Wisconsin's beautiful fall right now.  It has been a little chilly be we have had some nice days that let us get out and enjoy.  We love this time of year for many reasons.  It is beautiful, I can cuddle under a blanket and read, I finally want to actually cook on our stove or oven again, football has started and Halloween is coming up!  Here are some pictures of what we have been up to the last couple weeks.

Drake and I were playing outside a couple weeks ago and he found this toy hammer in the garage.  He then decided he was Thor.  So that is why he has it sticking out of his shirt, haha.

Can you find Drake???

Last week after church we went to Lapham Peak to enjoy the colors of Fall.  It was kind of cold so we didn't stay long but it was fun to get out there!

Go Sonja!

I think we have a walker!  This week Sonja has started to just stand up in the middle of the room all by herself.  Then last night she took one step.  And today she took about 5! Crazy how they just all of the sudden can do things.  Here are a few video's of her working on how to walk.  First is Drake helping Sonja walk, next is her showing off her standing skills and finally of her walking!

Sonja is One!

My sweet baby girl turns one tomorrow!  Since we don't have any family out here in Wisconsin we decided to throw a little party for her with some friends.  Sonja didn't really know what was going on and had no interest in opening presents but she definitely had fun.  Especially when she got to eat her cake!

Look at that "cheese" face.  I love it!

Chris and I got her a stroller for her birthday.  She isn't quite walking on her own but loves to walk and push things around.  I didn't take a picture but Drake picked his own present out for her and decided to get her a Rapunzel barbie.  He is such a cute big brother!

Sonja has attached to her little pink elephant (Elie) blanket so we thought we would do the cake after that.  Chris and I worked as a team doing this. I baked and Chris decorated.

So much pink.  Unfortunately, I think Sonja's favorite color is pink.  So other than her Elie cake we frosted an extra cake and some cinnamon rolls with pink.
 CAKE TIME!

Do you think she enjoyed eating the cake????  Haha!

I don't know why I didn't get more pictures of everyone at the party.  I struggle!  Anyways, here is Drake and a bunch of his friends that were at the party.  We invited 4 families to the party.  We are so lucky to have such great and supportive friends out here!

Happy Birthday sweet Sonja!  You have such a fun and quirky personality already, I can't wait to see what you are going to do/be like in the year to come.

Super Hero's!

Drake absolutely LOVES super hero's right now.  He is always pretending to be one super hero or another.  He varies between Spider-man, Batman, and Flash.  He then assigns all of us a super hero or villain to be.  I usually am Poison Ivy or Cat-woman, Sonja is always Wonder Woman, and Chris varies between Superman, Captain American, The Top or the turtle (both villains in Flash).  So Chris and I decided to make his room more fun with some super hero logos.  Chris traced all of these on canvas and then we painted them.  It was kind of fun to make but I am glad I had Chris there to help me!  We also made a Wonder Woman one to put up over Sonja's crib.
